Upper Hunter Services

With the continued generous support of Xstrata Coal NSW, Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter has expanded the services provided to the Upper Hunter Valley.

In addition to the existing Personal and Relationship Counselling and free Financial Counselling offered in Singleton, Lifeline now offers the Hunter Support Program and the Upper Hunter Men's Project to meet the specific needs of the Upper Hunter Community.

Hunter Support Program

The Hunter Support Program provides counselling, training and suicide prevention services across the Singleton and Muswellbrook regions.

The program combines existing Lifeline services including:

• Life Matters Program (Suicide Intervention, Prevention and Postvention)
  
• Personal & Relationship Counselling Service
  
• Financial Counselling Service
  
• Crisis Intervention Response Service
  
• Community Training and Workshops
  
• Hunter Valley Men’s Project

Singleton Appointments
Singleton Neighbourhood Centre - 21 Mary Street Singleton

• Personal and Relationship Counselling is offered on Mondays and Thursdays
  
• After work hour appointments can be arranged
  
• Financial Counselling is offered fortnightly on Wednesday
  
• Suicide Intervention Counselling provided on as needs basis
  
• Community seminars and workshops are offered and advertised regularly

Muswellbrook Appointments
JOBLINK Plus Building - 2/ 77-85 Bridge Street Muswellbrook

• Personal and Relationship Counselling is offered on Tuesdays
  
• After work hour appointments can be arranged
  
• Suicide Intervention Counselling provided on as needs basis
  
• Community seminars and workshops are offered and advertised regularly
  

Hunter Valley Men's Project

The Hunter Valley Men's Project is a Lifeline initiative for men who choose to stop hurting and frightening their families through violent and abusive behaviours and want assistance to find ways to develop positive relationships with their families.

Services include referrals to personal counselling, relationship counselling, financial counselling, drug and alcohol counselling, parenting programs and programs for separated dads.
