Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter along with Major Supporter ResCo Services are proud to announce that the winner of the inaugural Lifeline Workplace Lifesaver Award is Kay Ambrose of Westpac Newcastle.
According to nominator Jillian Pyne, Westpac Newcastle were united in nominating Kay for this award.
“Kay is considered a rock to those who know her & we would be lost without her.” said Ms Pyne. “Kay’s smile is a barometer reflecting the mood of the broader team”
Kay was nominated for the unofficial mentoring role she has taken on in assisting new & existing employees. Her coordination of charitable initiatives, more often than not outside of working hours, was also highlighted, as was her selfless willingness to assist colleagues no matter what else she has on her plate.
Concerned with unhealthy stress levels, particularly in local workplaces, Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter created the Workplace Lifesaver Award to highlight people who, in their own way, make a signifi cant contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of their work colleagues - and Kay Ambrose certainly fits the bill.
Kay was presented with the award at a fundraising luncheon for Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter on the 24th of June in front of esteemed business people from a wide cross section of the community.
Prior to the award presentation, guest speaker Dr. John D’Arcy shared some of his words of wisdom on the topic of Stress becoming Distress. Dr. John D’Arcy is Australia’s best-known media doctor. He is a family physician who began his broadcasting career 25 years ago with the Seven Network. John was the first medical practitioner appointed to an Australian newsroom and continues to lead in his role as network medical editor regularly appearing on the networks programs.
Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter would like to congratulate Kay on her award and for going above and beyond her role at Westpac to create a stress-free, productive work environment.
Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter would also like to thank Major Supporter ResCo Services, the luncheon supporters and guests for helping to raise vital funds for Lifeline’s 24 Hour Telephone Counselling Service.
