Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter has been providing Crisis Telephone Counselling Services for over forty years. During this time we have developed a strong reputation for the delivery of high quality training programmes, which we are proud to deliver to the Community.

Suicide Training Programmes

ASIST - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
A two day workshop designed to prepare suicide first-aid caregivers to be more ready, willing and able to help a person with thoughts of suicide to stay safe from immediate risks to their lives. ASIST is a well known and evaluated programme which is held in high regard and a must for anyone working with high risk populations.

safeTALK
A half day workshop designed for adults to help prepare them to be a suicide alert helper. The programme helps to raise awareness of the signs someone might be having thoughts of suicide, develop skills to enable helpers to respond effectively to people at risk and then connect the person to people trained in suicide intervention

Community Education Programmes

Accidental Counsellor Training
Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter offers a two day Accidental Counsellor Training course which will provide them with basic skills to assist in their dealing with people in crisis or challenging Situations— either on the phone or in person. >> CLICK HERE for more information

Seasons for Growth (Adult)
Change, loss and grief are a normal and valuable part of life and understanding and managing these experiences can be painful and confusing. This wonderful programme may be for you Using the imagery of the four seasons, the programme is a safe and proven way to help people think about and for some come to terms with their life-changing experiences.
It is offered over two full days or four days (three hour sessions)

I Don’t Know What to Say
A half- day workshop that equips people with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to respond effectively to those affected by change, grief and bereavement.

Building Personal Resilience to Manage Stress
It is normal to feel symptoms of being over-stressed especially if you been facing numerous obstacles, which you perceive as beyond your ability to control.
This interactive, fun workshop is offered as a two hour workshop.
